Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Tabletop Chronicles (“the Service”), operated at tabletopchronicles.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree that:

• You are at least 13 years of age.
• The information you provide is accurate and complete.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You will notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

3. User-Generated Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create on Tabletop Chronicles, including but not limited to character sheets, campaign notes, session chronicles, maps, handouts, and chat messages (“User Content”).

By uploading or creating User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. For example, we need this licence to show your campaign notes to your party members or to deliver your chat messages. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any other purpose.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others and does not contain unlawful material.

4. SRD 5.1 Content & Licensing

Tabletop Chronicles incorporates game mechanics, rules, and reference material from the Systems Reference Document 5.1 (SRD 5.1), published by Wizards of the Coast LLC and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY-4.0).

This means the SRD 5.1 game content available on our platform is free for anyone to use, share, and adapt, provided appropriate credit is given. The following attribution applies to all SRD 5.1 content on the platform:

Dungeons & Dragons, D&D, and Wizards of the Coast are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Tabletop Chronicles is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users, whether through chat, campaign content, or any other feature.
• Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or that promotes violence or discrimination.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ accounts, campaigns, or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through automated scripts, bots, or denial-of-service attacks.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service beyond what is available through your own account.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service or any part of it without our written permission.

6. Premium Subscriptions

Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period. Prices are displayed in your local currency where supported.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until then. After your subscription lapses, your account reverts to the free tier, but your data is preserved.

Refunds

We generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. However, if you experience a significant service issue or were charged in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will work with you to resolve it fairly.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before the new price takes effect. Existing subscribers will be notified via email.

7. Intellectual Property

The Tabletop Chronicles name, logo, visual design, and original source code are the property of Tabletop Chronicles. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service’s design or codebase without our written permission.

This does not restrict your rights to your own User Content (see Section 3) or to SRD 5.1 content used under CC-BY-4.0 (see Section 4).

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service’s reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tabletop Chronicles shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination.

10. Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] to resolve any disputes informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account.
